Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll receive a warm reception from one of our seasoned driver guides, who will be eager to accompany you to your selected hotel in Arusha. This knowledgeable guide will introduce you to the charms of this captivating city and the beautiful country of Tanzania. After your lengthy flight, you'll find solace in the fact that Arusha, the acclaimed 'safari capital' of East Africa, is situated at an elevation of 1400 meters above sea level, ensuring relatively moderate temperatures and humidity. Surrounding this vibrant city are some of Tanzania's most splendid treasures. Mount Meru stands majestically above Arusha, with distant views of Kilimanjaro on clear days. Arusha serves as the perfect starting point for safari enthusiasts. Notably, the city boasts its own natural gem, Arusha National Park, situated nearby. Bearing the name of the Wa-arusha residents of the area, this bustling hub for agriculture, administration, and tourism offers an ideal setting to unwind following a lengthy journey - a tranquil interlude before embarking on the safari adventure of a lifetime. Welcome to Arusha, and a hearty welcome to Tanzania!
Your journey will commence from a hotel in Arusha, heading towards the captivating Lake Manyara. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park boasts a mosaic of diverse landscapes. It features expanses of golden savannah, teeming wildlife along the narrow shores, and the serene waters of Lake Manyara itself. Renowned for its elephants and lively tribes of baboons, constantly communicating with each other, this park is a sight to behold. It is also home to the legendary tree-climbing lions, powerful water buffalo, majestic African elephants, giraffes, impalas, and hippos. Hosting an impressive array of over four hundred bird species, including migratory birds, it stands as a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Amidst this natural wonder, relish a picnic lunch surrounded by the calls of birds and the gentle hum of insects as the sun bathes everything in a golden hue. After soaking in these experiences, you'll conclude the day with a delightful dinner and overnight stay.
Following breakfast, your journey continues towards Lake Natron, renowned for its high salinity and the unique effects it creates. The lake's distinctive russet hue is a result of microorganisms thriving in its alkaline environment, forming salt-crust rafts scattered across the shallows. Notably, over half of the world's lesser flamingoes hatch in this lake, creating breathtaking displays of shimmering pink as they flock and elegantly move across the tranquil waters. Prepare to explore an intriguing terrain characterized by salt marshes, freshwater wetlands, and distinctive flora, leading to glistening waterfalls. The lake is bordered by the awe-inspiring Oldoinyo Lengai, meaning "Mountain of God" in the Maasai language, an active volcano that shapes hornitos - remarkable formations sculpted from cooled lava. As the evening descends, witness the picturesque sunset casting hues of pink and gold over this extraordinary landscape. Conclude your day by enjoying a delightful dinner at a lodge nestled in the moonlit shadows of Lake Natron.
Following a delectable breakfast, you'll bid farewell to the scenic Lake Natron and greet the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. However, before reaching this iconic destination, your journey will lead you through the vibrant towns of Loliondo and Wasso, traversing via Klein’s Gate located at the park's northeast entrance. This road trip promises a diverse array of sights: from bustling towns and quaint villages to stretches of savannah and pockets of forest, offering glimpses of antelope, wildebeest, and zebra along the way. Upon reaching a camp located at the heart of the Serengeti, take a moment to stretch your legs and unwind before indulging in a delightful dinner. Recharge with a restful night's sleep in preparation for the exciting adventures that await on the following day. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic lunch box and Dinner Journey time and Distance: 5-6 hours, 300 km from Lake Natron to Serengeti National Park.
Following a satisfying breakfast, your journey will lead deeper into the vast expanse of the magnificent Serengeti, an ecosystem teeming with a diverse array of hundreds of animal and bird species. Every moment of today's adventure promises to engage your senses fully. Your eyes will remain alert for each new sighting, while your ears will be treated to the symphony of life - from calls, screeches, and buzzing to the profound stillness of the hot noonday. The Serengeti's renown for its biodiversity means you're likely to encounter lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, and water buffalo mere feet away from your jeep. There's truly no place like it. It's also home to the natural wonder of the Great Migration, where thousands of zebras and wildebeests traverse the plains, risking their lives as they attract predators who are also fighting for survival. Witnessing this cycle is a humbling experience. In addition to these well-known inhabitants, you'll have the chance to spot some of the park's lesser-known but equally captivating creatures, including elands, hyenas, gazelles, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, and rhinos. For bird enthusiasts, the Serengeti hosts hundreds of bird species, both indigenous and migratory from Eurasia, offering an added delight. Conclude this day of marvels with a freshly prepared, delectable dinner at Chaka Mobile Camp, all beneath the breathtaking expanse of stars in the Serengeti's night sky. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic lunch box and Dinner
The pickup is scheduled at the crack of dawn, usually around 5 to 5:30 AM, allowing time for a quick coffee and a light breakfast before leaving your lodge. En route to the launch site, there's a chance to spot nocturnal animals that are seldom seen at any other time of day. Upon arrival at the launch site, a pre-launch safety briefing by the pilot is conducted while the balloon is being inflated. The flight duration is approximately one hour, during which the balloon can ascend up to 1000 feet, revealing the breathtaking expanse and spectacular panorama of the Serengeti below. The pilot skillfully controls the balloon's altitude, at times flying at treetop height, providing an up-close view of individual animals. After this exhilarating experience, you'll spend the night at a mobile camp, nestled in the heart of the wilderness, enhancing your safari adventure. Meal Plan: Breakfast, Picnic lunch box and Dinner
You’ll be up and about after breakfast for another drive through the sights and sounds of the Serengeti: the golden grasslands dotted with acacia, the endless blue of the skies and the ever-changing sites: over here you might see a rare tree-climbing lion – not as graceful as the leopard who is a lithe, natural climber – and towards the horizon a mixed herd of zebra and wildebeest grazing gently. After lunch you’ll set off for your next adventure, which is an exploration of the unique Ngorongoro Crater, and we’ll spend overnight at Simba Camp, which is on the very rim of the Crater itself. This is an ideal place to rest and relax, as you’ll enjoy a drink watching the incredible colours of the sunset range over the savannah, and the shadow of night creep into the caldera below. You’ll enjoy a delicious dinner in a Lodge. Full Board – Breakfast, Picnic lunch box and Dinner Journey time and Distance: 3.5 hours, 145 km from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Early mornings will mark the beginning of your days as you embark on a journey down the crater, equipped with a picnic breakfast. Your priority will be to make the most of the morning hours for optimal animal sightings, particularly aiming to encounter the Big Five. The volcanic terrain of the crater is fertile, drawing in numerous grazing animals and their predators. The crater's high walls act as a natural sanctuary for many creatures, limiting migration and resulting in a staggering diversity of wildlife. Expect to observe zebras, wildebeests, and chattering hyenas, among other fascinating species. Following a bustling morning, you'll savor a delightful picnic breakfast near a pond bustling with hippos. Then, your eyes will feast upon the breathtaking sights at Soda Lake, featuring elegant flocks of flamingos alongside storks, ibises, and cranes. Above, vultures and hawks circle in the indigo sky, eagerly seeking discarded carcasses. In the afternoon, post-lunch, your journey continues to Lake Eyasi. Arriving in time for a tranquil sunset stroll along the lakeshore, you'll conclude the day's adventures, ready to unwind and enjoy a well-deserved rest at a lodge nestled in this serene setting. Full Board – Breakfast, Picnic lunch box and Dinner Journey time and Distance: 3-4  hours, 190 km from  Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Lake Eyasi
Lake Eyasi holds a unique significance as the dwelling place of one of the world's last tribes of hunter-gatherers, the Hadzabe. The Hadzabe bushpeople lead a lifestyle devoid of agriculture, livestock rearing, rules, or calendars. Their existence embodies a hunter-gatherer way of life that has remained relatively unchanged for over 10,000 years. During your visit, you'll have the remarkable opportunity to observe the Hadzabe and witness their traditional survival techniques, including their hunting practices. Importantly, the Hadzabe adhere to a code where nothing is hunted unless it's entirely used, demonstrating a deep respect for the land and all its inhabitants. In their way of life, you'll discover a profound sense of beauty and tranquility. Following this insightful experience, the journey continues to Tarangire. The evening offers a chance for reflection on the adventures thus far, providing a serene setting at a camp. Here, you can unwind with a drink, listening to the harmonious calls of the evening, allowing the day's encounters to resonate and sink in. Full Board – Breakfast, Picnic lunch box and Dinner Journey time and Distance: 3-4  hours, 94km from Lale Eyasi to Tarangire.
Following a fulfilling breakfast, you'll set out for a game drive through Tarangire National Park.
