Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll receive a warm reception from one of our seasoned driver guides, ready to welcome and accompany you to your chosen hotel in Arusha. This experienced guide will provide an introduction to both the city and the country, ensuring a smooth start to your journey.
Following your long flight, you'll appreciate the pleasant climate of Arusha, situated at an elevation of 1400 meters above sea level. This altitude keeps temperatures and humidity relatively moderate. Surrounding this significant city are some of Tanzania's most magnificent attractions. Mount Meru stands prominently above Arusha, and on clear days, the distant sight of Kilimanjaro can also be observed. Arusha serves as an ideal hub for safari enthusiasts, offering easy access to iconic destinations such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
Additionally, Arusha boasts its own natural gem, the Arusha National Park, located nearby. Starting from your accommodation in Arusha after breakfast, your AfroKlan tour driver will transport you to Arusha Airport for your flight to Kogatende airstrip in the Northern Serengeti, with layovers at Kilimanjaro and Manyara, facilitating your journey to the intended destination.
Upon arrival at Kogatende, your designated driver-guide will greet you and transfer you to your camp, where a hot lunch awaits. Following this meal, you'll embark on an afternoon game drive, providing you with your initial experience of the wonders of the Northern Serengeti. Between the months of July and October, the gathering of animals along the Mara River can be a truly astonishing sight, promising an extraordinary wildlife spectacle.

Before departing from the captivating Northern Serengeti, the morning offers another opportunity to immerse in observing this natural wonder. Apart from the vast herds, the region teems with diverse wildlife such as giraffes, gazelles, impalas, hartebeests, and waterbucks. Your knowledgeable driver-guide will diligently seek out these animals and share insights about the rich variety of birdlife in the area, with over 500 species having been observed here.
In the afternoon, the journey leads back to the central part of the Serengeti. Upon arrival, you'll be escorted to your chosen accommodation, where you can unwind, relax, and enjoy your evening meal, allowing you to bask in the experiences of the day.

Waking up in the heart of the Serengeti is a truly extraordinary experience. The essence of Africa surrounds us, with the promise of a full day of adventure in one of the world's most renowned national parks. Following breakfast, our day kicks off with the morning session of our game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The captivating landscapes, ever-shifting light, and the enchanting wildlife, all guided by your expert driver-guide, create a remarkable experience.
After a picnic lunch, our journey continues, further exploring this awe-inspiring park. The wonders of the Serengeti transform subtly throughout the day. The plethora of animals and birds steal the spotlight, and the enthralling dramas of nature can unfold at any moment. Wildlife sightings such as lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, and antelopes might surprise us at any point during our drives. As the afternoon winds down, we return to the camp for dinner and well-deserved relaxation.
Note: For those who have scheduled the Balloon Safari for today, a pickup from the camp at 5:00 AM is arranged for a 6:00 AM departure. If you're interested in booking the balloon safari, please notify us in advance. The cost is $545 per person. After your 60-90 minute aerial adventure, relish a bush breakfast and champagne before your driver-guide picks you up for the full-day game drive.

Following a pleasant picnic lunch, we'll embark on an eastward drive to reach the renowned Ngorongoro Crater, a magnificent stage for Tanzania's wildlife. Upon arrival, settle into the lodge while a delectable, hot dinner is being prepared for your satisfaction. Tomorrow promises an adventure exploring the wonders of the crater, an experience not to be missed.

Today may mark your departure, but it begins with another awe-inspiring spectacle before you bid farewell. The Ngorongoro Crater, often hailed as a wonder of the world, unveils its magic during your early morning game drive.
The colossal volcanic caldera, the world's largest, presents a landscape of unparalleled beauty, adorned with grasslands, forests, and swamps. Moreover, the crater floor's permanent water sustains a thriving community of over 25,000 large mammals. Here, you'll encounter many of the wildlife species that inspired your safari adventure: elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, wallowing hippos, waterbucks, baboons, and even the elusive black rhinoceros seek refuge in this habitat.
Amidst this stunning environment dwell the Maasai, grazing their cattle in an area that's been a distinct conservation zone since 1956 and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1978. The harmonious coexistence of humans and animals makes Ngorongoro a unique gem in Tanzania, a fascinating aspect your driver-guide will happily elaborate on during your exploration.
Following the early morning game drive, a picnic lunch is arranged within the crater before your return journey to the airport for your flight home. The drive from the Ngorongoro Crater Floor to Kilimanjaro International Airport takes approximately 5 hours. Refer to the departure instructions for your smooth transition to your homeward flight.
